Several of you noticed no end of day OK Spot posting 2 days ago and my route yesterday was cut short. I replaced the batteries and all is good now - I hope!

This blog site documents my solo cross country bicycle adventure that goes from San Diego California to St. Augustine Florida - 3,200 miles. The trip is planned from November 21st until January 5th. The goal is to ride 80 miles per day for 40 days with 2 days of transport and 2 days for rest or bad weather. Gonna be a major challenge and a trip to remember!

Texas is big. Anyone else noticed that? Steve?

Steve, I've been pitching your story to all of the local papers. I have an in at the Durham Herald Sun but you don't live in Durham.
So not so much. Cary news is interested in a story when you get back. Just trying to add to your fame.

Steve already has a HUGE EGO. Please do not put him on the Pedestal he deserves.
Always remember rule #6.
Rule #6 states that you should never take yourself seriously
We figured that the SPOT GPS device rode in the car with the rest of you gear and that is why it looked like you made the last 30 miles at an average speed of 60 mph.
Very clever.
We also suspect that you DRAFTED the rental car all they way in to the finish for that day.
We will be watching closely to ensure you are not DRAFTING the next couple of days.
RIDE LIKE THE WIND.
My favorite Spot bug was when I loaded the Spot page and one check in the middle of your day was about 3000 miles south west in the middle of the Pacific. 10 minutes later you were back in Texas, which equates to about 18,000 mph (alien abduction?).
A quick refresh of the page and your alien abduction was mysteriously erased.
Good to know the SPOT device is back working ... a couple of nights I was up late working and checked your blog and no end of day notice. I was a little worried but figured you had enough electronic gear to get help if you needed it.
Tim... Yes, Texas is a little bit bigger than Wake county and thanks for trying to get some PR for me.
Jeff... very strange on the Spot anomolies although I did think I saw some aliens the other night when I rode down the mountain in the dark. Maybe they are tracking my blog site and attempted to take over Spot.
Kevin... you are nuts.
